The resin is harvested from the Dragons Blood tree (Dracaeana cinnabari), which only grows on Socotra island, between Yemen and Somali.
Its aroma is dark and sensuous. It is said to strengthen and stimulate the willpower. It is a legendary substance that has been used medicinally and as a protective incense for thousands of years.
It mixes well with other incense components, such as patchouli, sandalwood, cedar and frankincense.
