Boswellia serrata is harvested in India.

The resin is yellow to orange and when smoked, has a spicy, citrus aroma.  The resin gives off more smoke than other varieties when burned.

Boswellia serrata contains boswellic acids and is the most extensively researched variety of frankincense for it's use in medicine.  It has been used traditionally for healing, and has been mentioned in the “Bhava Prakasha”, a centuries-old Ayurvedic book.

This variety is used in religious ceremonies in India, and is ideal for use during daily prayer.
